The Altons:

A standout in the West Coast souldies scene, have risen from Southeast Los Angeles nightclubs to acclaimed stages like Austin City Limits and the Montreal Jazz Festival. As part of Daptone Records’ Penrose imprint, they’ve drawn audiences with Adriana Flores and Bryan Ponce’s captivating vocal interplay, supported by Caitlin Moss on drums and Chris “Bolillo” Manjarrez on bass. Their track “When You Go (That’s When You’ll Know),” even sampled by Mary J. Blige, highlights their broad appeal.

Their debut album, Heartache in Room 14, produced by Bosco Mann, marks a new creative chapter. Ponce reflects, “This album changed our approach to songwriting and recording,” while Flores adds, “Working with Gabe at Penrose reshaped our songwriting.” Tracks like “Waiting” reveal their lyrical depth, while “Del cielo te cuido” and “Perdóname” blend traditional bolero roots with modern instrumentation. “Your Light” adds a dreamy, heartfelt touch to the album’s diverse sounds.Set for release in early 2025 alongside a worldwide tour, Heartache in Room 14 promises to elevate The Altons’ soul-infused storytelling to new audiences globally.
